Your First Visit

Welcome to our practice!

Upon entering our office, you will be greeted by our receptionist who will welcome you to our office and help you with any of your initial questions.  No one enjoys "paper work", but our new patient information forms were designed by our doctors themselves and really do help your doctor tailor his approach and recommendations to meet your needs and expectations.

  • You can save time by downloading and completing our new patient information forms located under the "New Patient Center" tab on our web site, and bringing the completed forms with you on your initial visit, or
  • You may want to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time if you would like to complete the forms in our office.
Either way is fine with us, we're here to serve you!

Consultation

Next, one of our experienced Chiropractic Assistants will take a basic history of your presenting conditions. Then you will have a consultation with Dr. Davis Kinney or Dr. Daniel Webb to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Kinney or Dr. Webb to learn more about you, your condition, and  expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Davis Kinney or Dr. Daniel Webb will perform an examination to determine the nature of your problem.  Back, neck, or musculoskeletal pain generally falls into one of two categories; you can have a pathological source of your pain (tumor, infection, fracture, etc.), or you can have a mechanical source of your pain (pinched nerve, postural fault, muscle imbalance, disc problem, etc.)  Your examination will help the doctor rule out a "pathological" problem which may require a medical referral, verses a "mechanical" problem which can be treated with chiropractic care.  The doctor will test your reflexes, flexibility, as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests.  Please rest assured that the doctor will discuss everything with you prior to initiating any treatment, and no treatment will be done in our office without your consent.  No surprises!

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop  the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of  any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and areas of degeneration themselves.

Report of Findings

Once the information is collected  and examinations are performed, Dr. Davis Kinney  or Dr. Daniel Webb will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:

  1. How can you help me?
  2. How often do I need to come in?
  3. What  will  my treatment  cost?

After reviewing your health history,  goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Kinney or Dr. Webb will discuss their recommendations and notify you if they were able to determine that your condition  requires care with other providers.  Sometimes that means a referral for a different type of medical care, but often it may mean that your case should be co-managed with your medical provider.  Dr. Kinney or Dr. Webb will recommend the best  treatment and wellness program for your needs based on the level of care you choose.

Ultimately it's your health and your decision... no pressure!

Treatment

At the conclusion of this initial  appointment, you can choose to  experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, therapy modalities such as microcurrent or interferrential electrical therapy, ice or heat, and/or exercise.  Treatment is interactive, so  you can express concerns or preferences about the different styles of treatment  anytime.

Home Care Program

Prior to leaving, the doctor may suggest a  home care program  to incorporate outside of treatment.  If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire,  our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle.  Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a  customized wellness plan.  The purpose  of our wellness program is for   you  to achieve good spinal alignment, have a  healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
